Anja is 55 years old, a childcare worker, and grandmother of two grandchildren. After an emotional stroke of fate, she gained 20 kilos within a few months. The path to a fresh start

Anja, please tell us a little about yourself and how you came to SHEKO.

“I’m 55, have three adult children, two grandchildren, and my daughter Maraike ultimately led me to SHEKO. She had been shaking for a while and told me about it. At first, I was a bit skeptical, but then pleasantly surprised.

Sometimes it’s exactly that one recommendation from the family that changes everything.

What made you want to change your weight back then?

“I had two foster children with me who were then placed elsewhere. That was a blow of fate. And afterwards, I really gained 20 kilos within a few weeks, from 76 to 96 kilos. It happened so fast that I ran from doctor to doctor. They all said: menopause. But I didn’t want to just accept that. At times, I was at the gym three to four times a week, doing circuit training and targeted strength building, and nothing changed. It was totally frustrating.”

Emotional stress can profoundly affect body weight – regardless of what you eat or how much you move. On top of that, metabolism can actually slow down during menopause. That’s exactly why sometimes a new approach is needed that meets the body where it currently is.

When did it really click for you?

"At the beginning of 2024, I started really tracking my nutrition and engaging deeply with the topic. I realized that I often ate too little and the wrong things. Then I switched to a protein-rich diet, started doing hula hoop, and that was really the turning point."

I usually drink the shake as a shake in the evening. That’s my little ritual on the couch, usually something with chocolate. And I really put the powder everywhere: in muesli, in quark, in dishes. SHEKO is not a diet product for me, but simply part of my nutrition. Just like others need their coffee.

"I measure myself regularly, and when I look at the measurements from the beginning today, it's really impressive. 7 centimeters on the thighs, 15 on the hips, 11 on the waist, 10 on the chest. I went from size XL to M, sometimes even down to S. I have a pair of pants that I never managed to close and could only get up to the knees, then it stopped. Recently, I put them on and now they fit."
