Nadine: Finally, the weight loss journey is starting successfully!

You've been successfully losing weight with SHEKO for three months now. Is this the first time you've "shaken yourself slimmer"?

"Yes and no. I've tried many shakes. So many, in fact, that I couldn't even list them all. But now, with SHEKO, it's the first time I've really had a success and feel good."

In all previous attempts, the yo-yo effect quickly set in. Furthermore, Nadine finds losing weight particularly difficult due to her lipedema. With SHEKO, she was finally able to achieve long-term success despite her chronic illness.

What do you think is the reason for that? What's different about SHEKO?

"First, there's the taste. When I saw the shakes advertised, I thought, 'That sounds too good to be true.' I was really afraid it would just be another disgusting, gritty powder. So you started our weight loss program at the same time as our shakes?

"Exactly. It's part of the starter box and I just wanted to try it out to see if it really works. The result: It does. I really think it helped me the most to get started with my SHEKO success. I had absolutely no cravings and it was much easier for me to eat less."

Our weight loss program is very simple: For one week, before each main meal, dissolve the contents of a small stick in water and drink the mixture. The powder contains vitamins and minerals, as well as the plant-based fiber glucomannan. Once in the stomach, the konjac root absorbs water and swells so much that there's little room left for food. This helps control your hunger and reduces your calorie intake. Glucomannan has been proven to support weight loss.

What else motivates you to pursue your goal with such enthusiasm?

"To see that it's working. Sure, I also see the success on the scales. But recently I had a moment where I seriously thought: 'Wow, is that really you in the photo?' We had taken a group picture and I almost didn't recognize myself."

Nadine is aware that her incurable lipedema condition prevents her from getting rid of certain fat cells. "My goal is to lose so much weight that, ideally, only these abnormal fat cells remain."

You drink two shakes a day; at the beginning, the diet gave you a little boost. Have you changed anything else?

"SHEKO gives me a good feeling that I can achieve what I set out to do. That's why I want to start doing more exercise now. I've started hula-hooping again and I should really get back on the treadmill. I know that regular exercise is important."

So far, Nadine has managed to lose several kilograms without regular workouts. A rule of thumb states that diet accounts for 70% and exercise only 30% of successful weight loss. Nevertheless, exercise can make a big difference – especially if you choose a sport that is particularly helpful for weight reduction. In one study, scientists found that jogging, hiking, ballroom dancing, yoga, and skipping are among the most effective.

"Oh, and I also downloaded an app at the beginning to track calories. But then I quickly realized that I hardly needed it. If I drink two shakes a day, eat a small snack at work, and cook with my family in the afternoon, I still maintain a calorie deficit. All without depriving myself of anything."

Drink plenty of water

If a craving strikes, pause for a moment instead of immediately reaching for the chocolate. People who don't drink enough often mistake cravings for thirst. So it's important that you drink enough. Prefer something with flavor? Make yourself an unsweetened tea. Varieties containing licorice naturally taste like cookies.

Choosing the "right" chocolate

Nadine is a huge chocolate fan and doesn't want to miss out on her occasional indulgence. And she doesn't have to. It's all about moderation and choosing the right kind. In fact, moderate consumption of dark chocolate with a high cocoa content can even have a positive effect on diet and weight loss: it's filling, reduces cravings, and has a psychological effect.

Keep your goal in mind

“I want to continue losing weight and I have a very specific number I want to see on the scale soon,” says Nadine. This is important for her to stay motivated. But what you should also never forget: Don't just look ahead, but sometimes look back and celebrate the successes you've already achieved. Remember how proud you can be of yourself.
