Losing weight after childbirth without the yo-yo effect: Angelina's SHEKO story
With SHEKO, Angelina lost weight rapidly a year after her pregnancy. In just a few months, she reached her goal weight. When she stopped replacing her meals with a shake, she was afraid of the yo-yo effect. So far, she hasn't gained a single gram.
Angelina: Losing weight after pregnancy
You came across SHEKO in a drugstore. Was that by chance, or were you specifically looking for a weight loss companion?
"The first ten kilos came off all by themselves. After about a year, I hit a plateau. I just wanted to see what else was possible. Then I discovered SHEKO supplements at the drugstore. I also became aware of their shakes and started with the chocolate shake – without any goal or pressure. I thought to myself, 'You have nothing to lose – at best, just a few kilos.'"
So you set yourself a goal at that moment?
"Not quite. To be honest, I didn't have a specific goal. I didn't want to put myself under pressure. After all, there was also my baby – and spending time with him is much more important to me than dieting. But I was curious and just wanted to see if there was something that might help me lose weight 'on the side'."
For many years, magazines have been writing about the "after-baby body"—the body women have after pregnancy. Often, they feature models who appear slim again just a few weeks after giving birth, as if they hadn't carried a baby in their womb for the preceding months.
This distorts the image of the true "post-baby body"—if one even wants to use that term anymore. The reality is that there are stretch marks, a lingering tummy bulge, larger breasts, and perhaps a C-section scar. Gaining weight during pregnancy is perfectly normal. Even more normal is that the body needs time to recover afterward. The extra pounds don't disappear overnight, but usually only after three to six months. Which is a good thing, because the body needs small fat reserves to supply both mother and baby with all the necessary nutrients.
Losing many kilos in just a few months
Those "just a few kilos" turned into quite a lot of kilos very quickly. You halved your pregnancy weight in just a few weeks. How did you manage that?
"With SHEKO and nothing else. I started by replacing my breakfast and lunch with a shake. In the evenings I ate normally. I also took the fat burner capsules ."
Have you changed anything else about your diet?
"Sure, I cut out sweets and sugary drinks. But that was super easy for me because the shake is already so nice and sweet. Otherwise, I didn't change anything. My dinner was always whatever I was hungry for. Everything from a crisp salad to a greasy pizza was included."
Will the yo-yo effect kick in now?
At some point, you said you were absolutely happy with your success. Did you then stop drinking SHEKO shakes from one day to the next?
"Once I reached my initial goal of losing 10 kilos, I switched to a daily shake for a month. During that time, I also started thinking about how I could integrate more exercise into my everyday life. The easiest way to do that is simply to walk more. Now I walk 10,000 steps a day and go to the gym twice a week."
Are you still drinking that one shake?
"No. For a month now I've been eating all my meals normally again. I only occasionally have a shake if I feel like something sweet or think I could use a few more vitamins."
And how did your body react to this change?
"I'm maintaining my ideal weight. I haven't gained a single gram. I've experienced the yo-yo effect with other diets. With SHEKO, it's completely different. I love my body just the way it is. I don't need an 'after-baby body.' That would mean looking like I did before the pregnancy. Now I actually find myself even more beautiful – especially because I know what a miracle my body has performed in the meantime."

Losing weight with SHEKO: Angelina's tips
Sometimes your stomach is already full, but you still keep eating. This is because our feeling of satiety only kicks in after about 20 minutes. So it's better to take a few breaks in between and chew your food slowly before you miss the point where you're actually no longer hungry, but keep eating anyway.
Angelina approached it completely without pressure. She's certain that losing weight is also a matter of mindset. It's about signaling to your body that you're doing something for it, not against it. Therefore, you shouldn't forbid yourself anything. If you get a craving for chocolate: enjoy a piece.
In addition to the shakes and fat-blocking capsules, Angelina has also discovered our "Synbiotic Balance" capsules. These are a complex of various bacterial strains that help keep your gut flora in balance. Angelina says that her bloating – which she's been dealing with for years – disappeared in just a few days, and she felt much better in her body. And when you feel good, you're much more motivated to continue losing weight.
* The amount of weight loss varies from person to person and cannot be guaranteed. Similarly, the weight loss results reported in the SHEKO stories are individual and do not guarantee a corresponding weight loss within the same timeframe. To lose weight, two daily meals must be replaced with SHEKO shakes as part of a calorie-reduced diet.
