Tell us your story, Janine. How has your weight changed?

“Actually, I was always very happy with my figure. I was beautifully feminine, exercised regularly, and had nothing to complain about – until the pandemic started…”

Janine works as a teacher at a high school. All the stairs she climbs at school and the constant changes of classrooms usually get her to easily reach her 10,000 steps a day. But when lockdown after lockdown hit in 2020, that stopped. She had to stay home – with her three children.

“I know it was an absolute luxury problem that I didn’t need anyone to look after the kids. Nevertheless, it was really difficult to be at home all the time, managing the household and looking after the kids.”

What role does your diet play in your life?

“As a rule, I never had any problems with my diet. However, when you're at home all day, it's a completely different story: Lunch is cooked for the children, you eat again in the evening, and then there are snacks on the couch.”

Another problem: Janine isn't a fan of healthy food; for example, she doesn't like eating low-calorie vegetables. On top of that, she doesn't really enjoy cooking – partly because she simply doesn't have the time to relax in the kitchen with three children.

Often, after a hard day of homeschooling, looking after the children, and cleaning, washing, etc., Janine would treat herself to some well-deserved snacks. Brushing her teeth right after dinner? No way. For Janine, that was just the beginning: chips, a glass of wine to relax, and ice cream—not just a spoonful or two, but half a tub. Janine knew that couldn't be good for her health.

Although she is athletic, cycles and has discovered yoga since last summer, the snacks and the pandemic have left their mark .

Was there a moment when it “clicked”?

“Of course, I noticed along the way that snacking and unhealthy food weren't good and that I was getting further and further away from my ideal weight... After some time, however, I became even more aware of this and said to myself: Okay, that's enough now!”

Eventually, she reached a point where she didn't like herself at all anymore. She knew then that things couldn't go on like this . Luckily, it was only a matter of time before she met Sheko.

How did you become aware of SHEKO?

“To be honest, I hadn’t even looked for special shakes or anything like that! Now I couldn’t do without them…”
