Tell us how your weight has changed?

“I was severely overweight even as a child. At 18, I weighed 135 kg , couldn't walk far, and of course, always ate far too much. To lose weight, I first tried metabolic diets . But they made me feel sick, I let it slide, and finally stopped completely .”

Sabrina wasn't satisfied with that. Her next step was to be gastric bypass surgery . She had already researched the procedure and registered for an initial consultation . But then things turned out differently than she expected.

Was there a moment when it “clicked” for you?

“The ONE turning point was probably when I had a ruptured navel . It was caused by my obesity and I had to have surgery. Of course, I already knew that 135 kg wasn't healthy for either my body or my mind . But that's when I really realized it.”

Sabrina had been stared at since her youth. She always had to worry that she wouldn't fit in the chair in a restaurant – eventually , she didn't dare to go out to eat in front of other people at all.

“Furthermore, my feet hurt incredibly badly after walking for a long time. They were bright red and I couldn't walk any further on holiday…”

How did you plan to get your excess weight under control?

“After the failed metabolic diet , my next step was gastric bypass surgery . I saw no other way, but desperately wanted to lose weight and had already booked my initial consultation . Then SHEKO came along .”

How do you integrate SHEKO into your diet?

“After losing the first 30 kg , I briefly stopped using the shakes and paid more attention to my diet . Then I started using the shakes again . Now I replace one, two, or three meals a day as needed .”

Sabrina adjusts the number of shakes she consumes daily based on her activity level . For example, if she's been sitting all day and has burned relatively few calories , she replaces more shakes with regular meals. Sabrina sometimes snacks between meals. She often opts for a salad from McDonald's. While the salads themselves are very low in calories, the French dressing is not. Sabrina's motto: Treating yourself every now and then is allowed (and encouraged!).

Did you have any weak moments?

“Many warned me about the yo-yo effect . Even my family was skeptical at first. But I stuck with it from the beginning and was spared the yo-yo effect . Sure, I crave something sweet now and then – but doesn't everyone?”

During these "craving moments," Sabrina does allow herself a treat. Sometimes it's a piece of chocolate, sometimes even a whole bar. The most important thing: "Straighten your crown and continue with the shakes as normal the next day!"

Sabrina didn't find it easy at first either. Especially when her friends went to McDonald's: "But I just had my SHEKO Shake with me – that worked too!"

Since she used to eat more than average, her stomach was correspondingly distended. Switching directly to shakes was a challenge , but after a while she got used to it.

“I haven’t tried a recipe yet. I always drink the shakes plain because they already taste delicious.”

Don't put pressure on yourself!

It's best to set yourself small goals and not immediately focus on losing 20 kilos. Celebrate every kilo you lose. Anything beyond that is, of course, even better.

Reward yourself!

To stay motivated, it helps immensely to treat yourself every now and then. Sabrina, for example, always promised herself that after losing the next 10 kg, she would shop less and buy clothes in her new size. She also got a tattoo after losing 50 kg.

Get moving!

Sabrina does hula hooping for half an hour every day and tries to walk 10,000 steps. She also goes swimming regularly.

How has SHEKO changed your life?

“I’m much happier now. I do things I didn’t enjoy before, like going to the outdoor swimming pool and eating in public. Everything has just gotten so much better !”

Since Sabrina got her weight under control with SHEKO , she can now walk longer distances at a time. Before, she had to stop three times during a short walk. Now she walks the same distance three times in a row – without a break, but with plenty of stamina. She also no longer has to worry about chairs breaking under her weight and even eats vegetables.
