How do I prepare the shake?
Preparing your Balance Shake is very straightforward – whether you choose the classic or vegan version.
🌱 For the vegan Balance Shake, use 300 ml of water or an unsweetened plant-based drink of your choice and add five heaped tablespoons of shake powder (50 g) .
For the classic Balance Shake, simply pour 275 ml of fresh semi-skimmed milk (1.5%) into your shaker and then add two heaped tablespoons of powder (18 g) . If you want to be precise, you can also weigh out 18 g. But don't worry: 1 gram of shake powder only has about 4 calories. Now just insert the sieve into the lid, screw it on, shake well, and enjoy!
Why do I need more powder for the vegan shake?
Plant-based proteins behave differently than animal-based proteins. In a classic milk-based shake, the protein density is naturally higher , especially due to whey protein, which is particularly well absorbed by the body. Plant-based protein sources, on the other hand, offer many great benefits such as fiber and phytochemicals, but have a lower protein density and lower bioavailability . This means that to reliably supply your body with high-quality protein and all essential amino acids, you need more powder per serving .
Therefore, one serving of the vegan Balance Shake consists of 50g of powder . This ensures that you are optimally supplied even with a purely plant-based diet – with a full nutrient profile and the usual SHEKO quality.

Yes! Our vegan Balance Shake is completely soy-free . Instead, we rely on a clever combination of fava bean protein and wholegrain oat flour . These two plant-based protein sources complement each other perfectly and together provide a complete amino acid profile , without any typical soy side effects or allergy potential. Ideal for anyone who consciously wants to avoid soy or doesn't tolerate it well.
How does the vegan shake differ from the classic Balance Shake?
Both shakes share the same goal: to provide you with a complete, nutrient-rich, and satisfying meal , but they are based on different protein sources. The classic Balance Shake relies on milk proteins such as whey and casein, which have a particularly high biological value. The vegan Balance Shake, on the other hand, is entirely plant-based , uses fava beans and oats as high-quality protein sources, and also contains an enzyme complex that improves digestibility.
Furthermore, the preparation differs: While you prepare the classic shake with 18g of powder and milk , a serving of the vegan shake contains 50g of powder , which is mixed with water or unsweetened plant-based milk . The reason: Plant-based proteins are less concentrated and have lower bioavailability. To ensure you are still optimally supplied with all nutrients, you simply need a little more.

In the table, you'll find the values per 100 g of powder on the left and the values for a shake with milk on the right – this contains approximately 200 kcal. Don't worry about the sugar content: the powder itself contains only minimal amounts of sugar; the majority comes from the milk used.
